Who we are

Christ Church, Estover is unique in Devon. It is the only united church in the county to include Baptists, the Church of England, the Methodist Church, the Roman Catholic Church and the United Reformed Church working in partnership. These different denominations worked together to build the church and resource it. Christ Church is set up as a Local Ecumenical Partnership. Today its worship life reflects the rich traditions of it different partners.
We are a Church united in our common faith in God through Jesus Christ. We have been here since 1980, offering weekly services, taking baptisms, weddings and funerals and working with schools and other groups.
We see ourselves as a local church, here to serve the people of Estover, Leigham, Mainstone and Thornbury in North Plymouth. We aspire to be a church for the community, here to serve our neighbours, here to serve God. We believe that God cares for our community and want more people to know the hope we have found in Jesus.
Our building was opened in 1980 and was recently refurbished. This has made the worship space colourful and warm. Our church is wheelchair friendly and has a loop system. We also have large print hymn books. Toilets are available, including one for the disabled.
What do we believe?
We are Christians who believe in God -
We believe that worship can inspire and renew us for it is an encounter with the living God.
